Schiit’s Saga Preamp Impressions
So, I decided to try to make it work. Now, I will admit there are some Bluetooth-capable players out there, but they all tend to be these big retro-looking units. I want to play vinyl throughout the house. As I mentioned above, there are no AirPlay-compatible record players out there. So, next step was getting Bluetooth to work with an otherwise-normal record player. Traditional record players had to be plugged into an amplifier to deliver their sound to speakers. The AT-LP60 can output line-level audio, meaning that with the right adapters, you could even plug headphones into it and listen. And indeed, it comes with the right adaptor to take the RCA stereo output, and change it to a female audio mini-jack. So, here comes the wireless component. First, something that will take the audio from a mini-jack and transmit it via Bluetooth.
The concept here is to use one main DVR to record up to five programs at a time onto a one-terabyte internal hard drive. The cost of the DirecTV Genie system is not exactly clear, in that you don’t really own the unit; you lease it. Since I’m a long-term customer, DirecTV was quick to give me a deal to upgrade my hardware, which I had professionally installed by DirecTV in my new but temporary apartment. Much like a cellphone carrier, DirecTV required that I renew my contract for two years to get this deal, which was fine.
May 05, · Does your receiver have preouts? If it does then you connect the front L/R preouts to an input on a stereo amp (preferably one with an AV or unity setting as it makes the use easier) and then you connect your front l/r speakers to the stereo amp.
Thanks for the replies. I’ll try and make it more clear on what I’m trying to achieve. If the headphone circuit in the receiver sounded better I’d just leave it at that. My main objective is to improve on headphone performance and have the ability to control headphone volume from my couch. I don’t have a desktop system just the HT system.
I would take the preout from the receiver to the Saga and preout of the Saga to my power amp. So when watching a mutli channel movie for example I would turn the volume all the way up on the Saga which if I’m reading the spec. Overall volume would be controlled at the receiver. I would take the zone 2 output from the receiver to a second input on the Saga. The second preout on the Saga would then feed the headphone amp Jotunhein.
I would turn the volume of the headphone amp all the way open and control the volume from my couch through the Saga. I would then have the choice of listening to that analog stereo signal through headphones via the Jot. Clear as mud haha?

Apr 28, · I’ve been able to connect my Macbook Pro to my HDTV for years with the HDMI cord and Mini Display Port Adapter. But now when I try and connect, the connection of my desktop on the TV screen only lasts for a few seconds, and it goes blank.
I’m not really making my PC a music source. It is not really an HTPC in that sense. I guess at some point, I might rip all my music into lossless formats and use my PC as a media center. Not sure what all needs to be done for this. I’m sure I’ll encounter enough trouble to take up another few weekends so I’m leaving it be for now. Like, if I play a game which is pretty rare these days. For that, I’m not terribly concerned with audio quality.
So it’s easy at the moment. The whole reason I hooked up the PC was to get rid of the need for a separate monitor and the associated furniture. By the way, it is useful to know potential media center solutions. I don’t understand the whole airport express thing. I thought that was like a router.
How can I fix my right speaker, its not working!? Its not an issue with my computer as I pluged in the speakers to my phone as well. I have a Samsung 5.
The Marantz SR is the fifth Dolby Atmos receiver I’ve reviewed. However, to be frank, it’s only the second one that matters to me. Most of the Atmos receivers occupying my rack’s guest berth have been seven-channel models limited to channel Atmos, with .
Thanks for your many years of attention and everything you’ve done to make the site such a valuable resource. The first thing is that you have to do some configuring of both Java and Safari to get the applet to run at all. Once that was all done, I could log in from all my Macs, fire up the applet and establish a secure connection. On two of the Macs, as soon as I fired up the Citrix app, the Java vpn window would show ‘error’. The console showed a Java crash. But on the third Mac, everything worked fine.
I made sure that the Safari and Java preferences were set the same on each machine but still no joy.

We all know that YouTube is the number one source for videos online. Of course you can use YouTube directly and sing along with it without any additional equipment. Just play the songs from YouTube on your device and sing along.
Product Description. While this receiver might be entry level in terms of price, it certainly isn’t entry level in terms of features. Whether you want to enjoy a movie in 3D, stream music via the optional Bluetooth port or are looking to enjoy the sonic benefits of Audyssey, the NR has you covered.
I have never had an apple product with this terrible of quality. Would not recommend wasting your money. Quit working Yes 2. The result is the video quality is far below good HD quality. Expect all kinds of artifacts and other issues including lower than expected HD resolution. This is not a device that can replace a good streaming alternative, which is too bad considering Apple’s devices are more than powerful enough for that purpose.
For those of us hoping to use our phones or iPads to connect in business settings to display content, be aware that audio is only transmitted through the lightening port when this is plugged in, which gives no audio out through the headphone jack. That means that if you are plugging this into a projector’s HDMI input, you are likely going to lose any sound that goes along with your presentation or anything else as most quality projectors do not have speakers.
This is a big oversight in my opinion as lots of devices keep the analog audio out of a headphone jack or the like live while also transmitting sound over HDMI. Similarly, sound is not also sent via bluetooth when this is plugged in, so that’s not an alternative either. I have both the bluetooth and headphone jack options open on my laptop, which has an HDMI out.

The replacement is the AVR-X With its metal front panel and flip-down door, the Denon “:? It delivers watts per channel–more than enough power for the largest of rooms and the most demanding of speakers.
Aug 02, · Does anyone know of a mini Hifi with Optical in? I’m looking for a small unit to fit in the cabinet under the TV so I can connect an Apple TV to.
The actual French legal ruling was published 7 February and then rescinded 3 July . CPR was withdrawn in March to be replaced by the equivalent norm CPR , representing Japan move from analogue to digital and thus letting analogue connectors as things from the past. It was adopted in Japan for the connector’s ability to support RGB output format no compression nor deterioration of original video signals but, contrary to SCART in Europe, it never saw widespread use on the consumer market.
Assuming other connectors even existed, devices made by various companies could have different and incompatible standards. To achieve this it gathered all of the analogue signal connections into a single cable with a unique connector that made incorrect connections nearly impossible. The standard was extended at the end of the s to support the new S-Video signals.
A TV can be awakened from standby mode, and it can automatically switch to appropriate AV channel, when the device attached to it through a SCART connector is turned on. SCART connection was also used for high definition signals like i, p, i, p with YPbPr connection by some manufacturers, but to the present day this connection is very scarce due to the advent of HDMI. A TV will typically send the antenna audio and video signals to the SCART sockets all the time and watch for returned signals, to display and reproduce them.

Twitter Advertisement Missing your favorite games from childhood? Everything You Need to Know The Raspberry Pi has plenty of uses, but perhaps the most fun is playing classic video games. Here’s everything you need to know about retro gaming on your Raspberry Pi. Why let your old console languish in a forgotten box in your attic or basement, when you can simply find it, dust it down, and load your favorite games up?
We think not, and here’s why. As different as these consoles are, they each share a similar quality — how you connect them to a TV. Two options are available: RF — the old-style aerial connection. Composite — the red, white and yellow cable that is still in use. Red and white are the audio channels, yellow the video. If you want to start working with electronics, you’re going to need to learn to solder. The NES original shipped with an RF switch, and if your TV has an RF port it probably does, in order to connect to old-style aerials , then you can use this, which connects to the port next to the power socket.
The RF switch box is designed so that you can connect it to your TV, between your cable box and the TV, with both devices using the same channel on your TV.
